Timur Mironyuk
5 years old
Diagnosis: lymphoma, brain tumour
Fundraising goal: 150,000 shekels
Hospital: Hadassah Ein Kerem
Timur is his family’s long-awaited and only child. Before his illness, they lived an ordinary, happy life: his parents worked, built a home and made plans for the future.
In July 2022, when Timur was just 2 years old, the family first came to the haemato-oncology department. Tests led to a diagnosis of B2 acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
A long, difficult course of treatment followed: many rounds of chemotherapy, anaesthesia, punctures, catheter placement, endless tests and hospital stays. For 2.5 years, Timur faced every stage of treatment with courage and strength that amazed those around him.
Treatment ended in November 2024. His family hoped the illness was behind them and that a new life without hospitals was beginning.
But just a month later, worrying symptoms appeared: headaches, weakness and pain in his leg. Further tests confirmed the first relapse, affecting the central nervous system. After this, his parents separated, and his mother has been fighting for Timur’s health on her own.
Timur had high-dose chemotherapy and a course of radiotherapy. On June 18, 2025, he received a bone marrow transplant at Hadassah Medical Center in Israel. During this difficult period, he and his mother also lived through war in Israel, far from home and under constant stress.
In December 2025, the family returned home to Krasnodar. For a time, Timur’s condition remained stable.
In February 2026, worrying symptoms returned: severe headaches, weakness and low energy. An MRI revealed a tumour in his brain. Now Timur and his mother are facing the illness for a third time.
Despite everything, the doctors give a favourable outlook with long-term treatment. Timur’s resilience amazes everyone around him.
Timur is now 5 years old. He has spent most of his life in hospitals. He is still a cheerful, sociable and curious child who loves drawing, modelling clay, making mosaics and helping his mother in the kitchen. His greatest dream is to go to kindergarten, play with other children and live an ordinary, healthy childhood.
We cannot stand by. Each of us can help Timur and his mother through this journey and give him a chance at life and health.
